It doesn't hurt battery life as much as you'd think, and the graphics are great. After that, right click on the Desktop and click Switchable Graphics, and then set it to High Performance. I immediately chose to go into the BIOS and change from Dynamic (automatically switches) to Fixed. Most people are saying the switchable graphics don't work well - I haven't had that problem. Battery life is good, it's absolutely beautiful, sound is nice, and it's not very heavy. Graphics are fast - I played Skyrim on High settings with 4xaa 16xaf 1920x1080, looks fantastic and it's mostly smooth. You're probably looking at this because of the specs, and it doesn't disappoint. Pros: This is a great laptop and an awesome deal.

However, a word of warning: because the resolution is 1920x1080 (AKA 1080p), anything less than 1080p (such as 720p or 480p YouTube videos) look worse when full-screen, and it makes the toll on hardware a lot larger when playing demanding video games, so reducing the game's resolution may be required (which WILL result in an obvious loss of quality). Overall Review: Overall this is an amazing laptop. You have to go to Playback Devices and disable Communications Headphones or else the computer will ignore anything plugged into the headphones jack and go ahead and play through the speakers regardless. The only unexpected problem is with the headphones jack. However, I've come to expect this of laptops.

Norton anti-virus is crud but it comes pre-installed and if you don't install it, it bugs you fairly often to upgrade to full Norton anti-virus. The screen isn't larger than the average laptop (15.6") but due to the high resolution (1920x1080), the screen is comfortable and very good quality.Ĭons: Lots and lots and lots of weird programs from HP and etc. on max settings (except on LoL where I have to turn shadows off due to bad optimization of the client) with 30-40 FPS or more.
So far I can run DotA2, Psychonauts, TF2, LoL, etc.
